i've tried but none show any real interest, well one of my friends said he'll build the escalade once it comes out if i show him how, my brothers build occasionally, but then always forget their projects and dont finish them.

Re: Anyone try to talk their friends into models?

Well....i've had more than a friend into modeling. I've talked alot of friends into trying it and most of them have stayed with it.
One cool thing that happened in school was we organized a model competition for the Automotive classes with a prize of tools. There was a pretty good turnout (32 entries) from 4 classes. And from what I've heard theres another one this semester and theres a normal prize, and a prize among me and a few others to see whos are better. But so far I think its turned out good.

Re: Anyone try to talk their friends into models?

My brother hasn't been into modeling for a long time and I had been talking about it and he went and bought a kit then earlier today he picked me up like I want to get another kit, so we went to Hobby Lobby b/c it was half off and both got some good deals, he got the Tamiya 360 Spider.

Re: Anyone try to talk their friends into models?

My best friend and I were both into modifiers, and I just recently had the urge to build models. He (ImportFool to those who know modifiers) has an interest in modeling, and is a fan of the stuff at SAS, but he's never actually mentioned building a model of his own.

My sister likes that I build models and modifiers, and thinks it's a cool hobby, but has never done it herself.

I have a friend who is alot younger than me, but who is a really cool kid who seemed interested in modeling when I told him I was going to build one. I might buy him the revell integra type R or something.
