Jaguar FailSafe mode

If the electrical signal is lost from the accelerator pedal to the electronic throttle body, can trigger a FailSafe mode on a drive-by-wire system.

A bad cowl caused water to roll from windshield onto the engine, thus random misfires, and shorted out electronic control module on throttle body. ''FailSafe''
