I know you all have some very diffrent views on what the "best" upgrade motor is but im just currious on what is the best motor preformance, duribility, and cost wise for a 96 Integra is.

What model is it? LS? I would have to say upgrade to a JDM ITR motor if you can find one or the H22A out of the prelude. Those two are the best bang for the buck.

if i were you i would work with what you have. The H22 is not the best for every day driving and ive herd it causes both weight and stering probs if i were you i would keep the ls and change the head (go vtec) or even beter slap on a turbo. Good luck

The integra is not adversely affected by the h22's weight as much as say a civic or crx is and you can counteract any problems with good suspension tuning. Most people say the H22 causes understeer because they heard that from someone else. But the integra is more stout than a civic and will be able to take the extra 50-100 pounds that the h22a adds. So i would still say either the H22 or jdm itr or ctr.

Yea, they are overpriced for what you get. Katman over on the honda-tech board had a friend that had one and said it was a waste when you could get an itr motor with close to the same hp and save a whole bunch of money. IMO I like spoon sports parts but I wouldn't waste my money on one of their motors when I could build one to my specs.

more in the lines of engine mods...
i was speaking with a rather knowledgeable friend of mine about what you all have told me here, and he said that with either the b16b or the JDM ITR i would not pass smog, first of all i dont know if that true and second he said i could get a american ITR and place the mods on it to make it equal/better than the JDM is this true?

It depends on what state you are in. I live in PA and I passed my jdm zc. I think that if you want to be safe get a us itr and not have to worry about smog.
