2005 Maserati Quattroporte sighted

Yup, as my dad and I pulled into the In-N-Out parking lot here in the bay area of CA., I looked over at the car we were parking next to and thought, "I've never seen one of these!!" So of course as I was getting out of the car I looked it over...the car was filthy!!!, but it also had Utah tags, so I'm guessing the driver was on a road trip.

We proceeded toward the door of In-N-Out and I noticed the guy coming toward the Mazerati. I said "Nice car, what make of Mazerati is it?" I didn't see any badging on it, which was why I asked. And he blurted out something that just baffled me, I really did not have a clue what he just said...LOL all I knew was something that sounded like "Quatro..something." So of course I was like "wow...nice, etc."

I then asked him what kind of engine it had and he said something like "a 420 hp V8", as I now know he exagerrated a bit! My dad asked him how many were built, and he mentioned only about 80 had been imported to the US!! Awesome car, here's a link with a pic and some specs.

only one has been leagally imported into the usa, and is now located in florida, still for sale, there might be others that have come in since i last checked the sites and books, but there were only 50 built in the span of 2yrs, so don't expect to see one again, especially dirty

Re: 2005 Maserati Quattroporte sighted

I dont know what your talking about, but the Maserati dealership in MINNEAPOLIS had one that they brought to the 2005 Minnaepolis/St. Paul auto show. So there couldnt be only one legally imported to the US.

Re: 2005 Maserati Quattroporte sighted

um not to be rude, but what's the chances of you owning the racing versions, i always count rd versions seperate than race versions, i know there was an mc12 advertised in the dupont registry, had to back in like july or so...i think the cover was a pagani, also nice cars, i think the plan was 5 mc12's for the rd, i know one raced at laguna last yr, i assume it's owned by an american team, not sure, no offense i don't like many italian cars,i'm an amercan muscle and japanesse muscle car kinda guy, i mean i like the enzo and family, not to much from lambo tho

Re: 2005 Maserati Quattroporte sighted

We arnt talking about the Kyalami here and there arnt usualy cars for sale here all the time. A better place to find one would be clasic car sales web sites or Ferrari/Maserati car clubs in your area and there web sites.
