oil in spark plug tunes and on boots and plugs themselves

I am going to replace the valve cover gasket, plugs, and wires as wellas clean the plug holes. Question is are there spark plug tube seals to be replaced? And dumb question but this would cause the engine to misfire and possible not start at all correct? Please help so I buy everything at one time. Thanks guys and gals
