Cars with ECO mode

I currently have an Accord 2005 v6 3.0, and yeah, it does consume a lot of fuel.

I am currently planning to upgrade to a car made in 2012, and yeah could be a v6 or a v8, sedan or an suv, but my main concern is getting a car with active fuel management. i.e. Cars which have the ability to shut down half of the cylinders when not required, so as to cut down on fuel consumption.

Could anyone provide me a list please?

P.S- No ford and chevrolet please

Re: Cars with ECO mode

I really doubt that you're going to get the reply you want. Cylinder deactivation is old technology and has proven to have multiple problems in the vehicles that have been sold with it. The biggest problem now is trying to make it work with high-tech diagnostic systems.

The only makes I know of that still use it are GM and VW - and then for trucks and (in VW's case) ultra-economy engines.

In short, in the eyes of most car folks, cylinder deactivation is a case of using too much technology for too little results...

Re: Cars with ECO mode

From what I've seen in my friends Hyundai Santa Fe, It does have an Eco mode, but not sure what technology they use to enable this mode.

EDIT: Honda Accord model 2008+ uses the cylinder deactivation technology till date.
