yea 15-20 hp increase

I dont have any pictures now but my car is still "under construction".Any one who has a honda except for a couple of engines know's that honda engines rev up pretty quick.Put it like this the more your car breaths the better it runs. And no, my car does not have bald tires.Right now my car is sitting due to a blown head gasket ,that god knows how long that old gasket has been in there. My head is out and im waiting for it to come back from the machine shop.Since i have to change the head gasket im shaving the head as low as i can go.The higher the compression ratio the more hp and defenately torque you get. Also to the guy with the b18 in his civc,,,,,wow if u have an intake and exhaust and u dont have or feel a power gain more than me , you have some serious problems.

Thats definatly BS about the 15-20 hp from ghetto intake and exhaust. And even more about chirping in third. And just some advice, In my opinion it is a better plan to use high compression pistons to raise compression, shaving the head can weaken it.

As for the Sedan, i would save more money and do a swap either a full d16a6 or a minime

First of all , I dont have to lie.2nd of all do you even know what your talking about, because you obviously dont.I will put money or even my title on the line that my d15 ,barely even tuned will burn the shit out of you.Any1 knows the 'higher the compression ratio, the more hp and torque you get.And without shaving the head to get a higher compression ratio you would have to buy higher piston "rods" to raise compression. Its basicly the same thing just one, you pay $80.00 and the other u pay a minimum of $250.00.Man you r a joke,,,dont post shit that you dont know what your talking about.

Re: Cheap upgrades for a D15B7?

Shit, what was I thinking...obviously I wasn't, lol. But with his 15-20hp he gained he could prolly easily take me, cuz i only have 108 stock (but im sure my mods dont count for hp or somethin) so he'd prolly dust me and steal my stock emblem.

Thanx bro...I think i'm gonna do that, convert to the d15b2 and take away mpfi and get dpfi!!! I can't wait till I have enough emblems to put all the way around my car. Maybe I can even win some of the ones that Glow!!!!!

Re: Re: Cheap upgrades for a D15B7?

All im saying is that im maxing out my d15.It runs hard for what it is without major up grades such as mpfi, cam, and a d16 head. And about the 15-20 hp gain, when i ran it on the dyno with the intake and greddy exhaust system it was a 14.8 hp gain.I did a tune up,double platinum spark plugs,10.3 wires, oil change, fuel filter, oil filter etc and i felt another difference in my car ,thats why i say 15-20hp increase. The greddy exhaust really works.

You are the one who obviously knows nothing about d series engines saying you have gained 15hp from exhaust and intake on a d15... d16a6 is much better, better head, cam, injection, block, bottom end, everything. Why use d16 parts on a d15 when you a d16 is pretty much the same price and much better.

So you gained 20 hp up to 112... i have 108 stock, and much better gear ratios 4.40 > 4.00 and weigh less, so a Si will still beat you.

BTW you said you have platinum plugs, they hinder performance because copper is a better conductor than platinum, which is simply meant for longevity not performance. But i guess because platinum plugs are 3x as much, they must add power. And anyone who knows anything about tuning Honda engines, knows that honda's ignition system is very good and does not need upgrading unless you are making 300+hp, so don't expect 10hp from your 10.3mm wires

Dude, when you put on d16 head your gonna be pushin 200hp

Thanks for the info guys, and uhm, I think I'll hold off on the exhaust and intake mods until I do the mpfi conversion.

BTW, what is the stock exhaust size? The stock exhaust is kinda rusty...
