"Smoke'd" Goose Gander
So, as the saying goes;
What's good for the goose is good for the gander right? Then what's the deal when you make an example out of your lifeline, your money in the bank icon; Dale Eanrhardt Jr. When in his excitement slips up during a post race interview and let's some "shit" fly, of which robbed out his very probable claim to the championship by losing valuable points as punishment. After doing so, NASCAR then went on frenzy regarding media interaction and conduct, minding everyone to watch their language, instituting a 7 second air-time delay for censor ability and fining drivers for removing non-sponsored items placed on their cars in Victory Lane. Fast forward a couple of years to yesterday, when Tony Stewart can win at Indy, a track packed full to the tune of a quarter million fans, whom Tony dedicated this win to all the fans out there, who "put up with the bullshit all these years". After Jr's little moment it was almost instantly known that the "sanctioning body" was not pleased with his choice of words. Yet here we are almost a full 24 hours since yesterdays events and nothing, nada. Don't get me wrong, I like both drivers and don't want to see either in the 'penalty box', BUT, shame on you NASCAR, John Darby, and Mike Helton. You make all these rules and uphold them when the mood seems fit to declare "language detremental to the image of stock car racing" . Shame Last edited by wrightz28; 07-30-2007 at 04:19 PM. |
