Need help identifying part 88' s-10

Hey yall, I am trying to identify a part on my grandpas 1988 s-10. I am not familiar with this vehicle at all so I thought I would just ask on here.

Tough to see the true location, is this on the transmission? If so, vacuum modulator.

Its on the drivers side front lower portion of the engine and it has a fuel line attached to it on one end then its bolted up to the engine.

What engine is this, if there is a fuel line and a fuel line out this could be the fuel press. regulator but on a 6 this is not where it is located.
