I just love this picture, and the car. Top speed 217 mph 0 - 60 in 3.8 sec 1/4 mi 11.7 @ 125mph Horsepower 542 bhp @ 7200 rpm Engine: 3.5 litre, Twin turbo V6 aluminium alloy cylinder heads and block. Two overhead camshafts per bank, 4 valves per cylinder. Curb weight 3025 lb Prior to the McLaren's introduction this was the world's fastest production car.

nice...
But, I dunno, it just doesn't feel right looking at it. I can't imagine myself or anyone else driving it, if someone purchases an XJ220, they will just race with them. But yeah, it does look very powerful, strong, like a Jaguar. |

Wait...It doesn't look right? Are you smoking? That thing is gorgeous! Well, that's opinion, I guess.

Nice pic enzo
Yeah that was an artful photographing achievement capturing that Jag at such a picturesque moment. And I had no idea the XJ220's were that fast.
Is that number correct, 3.5 liters? Not to doubt you (or stats listed on supercars.net), just curious; the block looks too big to have that such a small displacement in the engineering plan view.. and in fact, I'd say from what I can see, it looks like either an inline 6 or a V12.. or maybe I'm the one whose smoking |

Well, I have known Supercars.com to sometimes make either typo errors or simply post false info, so I searched a little more. I had always thought it to be a V6, so I didn't doubt it.
My findings: according to these two sites, http://www.supercarcentral.com/cars/...j220/stats.htm http://www.rapidcars.com/xj220specs.html it is a V6, and if you convert the cubic inches on the latter, it works out to 3.5 litres (213.4 cu in). Those throttle bodies do give a false impression, and the only recourse I can offer is this...Originally, in '88 when this was still a concept, the car featured a TT V12. However, Jaguar later opted for the lighter TT V6. So, perhaps this drawing is of the previous engine...thus, the block size and those 6 pairs of Throttle bodies would not belong to the V6. I tried to find better pics of the engine on the net, but to no avail.

One more thing about this car ,,,, its Junk if you ask me Jaguar thought they had it all,,, but it keeps breaking downlike crazy and not reliable ,, this car is droped the price of the Porche, & Ferrari F40 price tags.. however they soon found out it wasnt any good and the prices of both those cars went up like crazy in other words almost Pricless,,,, Jags are no good.

It is good, but I wouldn't buy it. I would take the McLaren F1, but for 250 grand (the current selling price, and some are still new, no-one bought them!) they aren't bad.

Jaguar under Ford's ownership has pushed the level of quality to levels equal with Lexus and BMW. The XJ220 is one the best looking super cars of all time. If the XJ220 project would have been done under Ford's ownership, thus Ford's money it may have become a better car then the McLaren F1. The one Jag XJ220 owner I know in Michigan loves his Jag. The XJ220 is a great looking car that stands out from the rest of the super cars. In terms of looks alone the XJ220 is one of the best looking super cars of all time. |

So 3 or more americans own XJ220's now? At one time, only Gates and Mike Tyson had one.

There are a dozen XJ220s in America now thanks to the new import loop holes. The feds are allowing cars for "show" to be brought in. Many cars that were once banned can apply to be brought in. Before long I would guess 50 or more XJ220s will be here.
