1979 rx7

Revell's reissued (Monogram) RX7; building this as a base/stripper variant with steel wheels. It's a pretty decent kit with a 12A engine.

Fujimi KPGC10 GT-R steel wheels & tires. Paint is a mixture of TS-52 Candy Lime Green w/TS-20 Metallic Green.

Nice start, Bob. I'm liking the green.

Re: 1979 rx7

Thanks for the comments, this is final test fit before gluing in the glass and buttoning it up for final assembly. These old Monogram kits are fun; decent detail w/o being fiddly.

Can't say how happy I've been to have this kit back on the shelf. Yours is looking like it would be sitting in a local middle manager's garage right in front of his six year old Cutlass Ciera, waiting for a "nice weekend" to drive the wife to that one steak place by the lake.

Thanks! I'm very happy for it too, I built one as a racer for expanded Scale Auto review, so can't share it here yet. I started this at same time and intended to build both at same time, but deadline loomed. So cool to have the race version back as well, first time it's ever been reissued.

I've started to restore the Tamiya facelift SA22C aka FB, the one w/the rotor wheels, but I've got a cool set of custom wheels made by Buckeye Scale Auto Parts (Mike Newport) that are going under it and I'll use some of the Revell interior parts, at least behind the seats. It will stay RHD.

Re: 1979 rx7

I expected to see the box art car! But, that one had rather too much paint on it. Nice build, BTW!
