Rear Air shock Troubleshooting
My rearend has lowered to just a few inches of the rear wheels. I replaced the passanger side about a year ago. the air attatchment was snapped off.
Mt Question is: Can you TS this thing without removing the wheels? Last edited by zombe1961; 07-22-2009 at 09:14 AM. |

Re: Rear Air shock Troubleshooting
Fill 'em up with air and look/listen for the leak. Might try a spray bottle with soap, squirt it on and watch for bubbles.

Re: Rear Air shock Troubleshooting
They will air up sometimes when you turn the compressor on manualy back were the switch is located in the rear compartment. So I think it is not a air bag. HELP!

Re: Rear Air shock Troubleshooting
Is there a sensor that senses the low rear "altitude"?

Re: Rear Air shock Troubleshooting
Well I've googled & searched forums...nuthin'.
You might check a chain type auto parts store and sneak a check in a Bravada/Envoy/Trailblazer manual for the rear suspension height sensor adjustment. If you find info, buy the manual then you can report your repair/adjustment with pics. It'll probably be the first on the entire internet. |

Re: Rear Air shock Troubleshooting
I know this is a old post, but for future reference, or if your still looking for the problem....
The level sensor for these trucks that came with rear air leveling suspension is located at the rear and has an arm connected to the rear axle, on the axle housing where the rear differential cover is bolted on. These tend to wear, causing the air pump not to come on as required to bring the rear up as required. |

Re: Rear Air shock Troubleshooting
Hey thanks pal!
Do you believe the sensor is a pot that gives out or will adjustment bring it back in line? |

Re: Rear Air shock Troubleshooting
They usually wearout and need to be replaced, but each situation is different, so you have to take a close look. Its may just need some cleaning to get it to work, it all depends.
