2002 Bravada AWD Turning Issues

WHEN I TURN THE WHEEL HARD TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT.Tight turns it seems to be binding up the front end. You can feel it in the steering wheel and floor.

I'd suggest taking it to a certified SAE mechanic ! The steering system on your car is a vital part for your safety . It's not something you would want to have questions about when you're driving down the road !

Re: 2002 Bravada AWD Turning Issues

Guess the drivers side hub & CV joint going out now huh, since you recently replaced the passenger side?
I guess it can get so wobbly it'll cause the brakes to drag.
Need to take care of it pretty quick, ya don't want it to get an uncontrollable wobble(Death Wobble) which could cause you to loose control at highway speeds.

I replace the hub the same time I did the passenger side.
CV Maybe. I will check. I thought it was the front diff.

Re: 2002 Bravada AWD Turning Issues

OK, changed CV on drivers side I am still feeling the turn bind at real low speed and more than 90 degree turn. It feels like the car will stall out. I let off return the wheel back to straight and it stops. It is intermitent. HELP!!

Sounds like the Smartrak is binding up doesn't it? You might try pulling the ATC(Smartrak) fuse and see if that helps.

If pulling the fuse really helps then the transfer case should benefit from a fluid change to the blue AutoTrac II lube to help unstick the internal parts.
