Re: Kr 211v '06
I'm amazed again.
Thanks for the explanation of making the welds. What kind of putty do you use for your models? kind regards Denman

Re: Kr 211v '06
Hi denman2, I use four types of putty, Tamiya Epoxy putty (quick type), Tamiya putty (grey) Vallejo plastic putty (the one of the previous pages with the blue tube) and one which is similar to tamiya putty but more big and more hard.
The tank is very inclined, I don't know why, but I followed the scheme of the real bike. Bye |

Re: Kr 211v '06
Thank you guys
here is the most important and critic update of this project: The chassis and the swing arm aren't complete but I'm very happy with the result, also because I have space to put the reinforcement piece inside of the hole of the swing arm, if you don't know what I'm talking about just wait 3 days. Roca. |

Re: Kr 211v '06
Thank you Joel
Well... I will have serious problems with the engine and the chassis. Everything on the side view was okay but I didn't calculated correctly the interior diameter of the chassis (which I don't know because I didn't modified the main structure of the original RC211V chassis). Now the engine fits well to the chassis but there isn't enough space for the wiring of the sensors situated on the cylinder head so I will have to work with it. I will post more photos in two days. Roca. |

After watching this build for 2 years, it's wonderful to see it progressing to this stage. Wonderful work Roca. Maybe this will get King Kenny back into motogp!

Re: Kr 211v '06
Thank you iharos
Well.. Here I'm with more pictures, It was really hard to allow the engine to enter to the chassis. I was working over the limit of the chassis, but finally it fitted in! Here it is polished Also it was really hard to make sure all the points coincide (4 points will be with screws and 2 will be photoetched or styrene but not sure about it yet, I have to study it) Now I will add putty in some small areas but it is almost finished (but I can't be sure because there are a lot of tubes etc of the engine so I will say it is finished once all the package engine-radiator-chassis-swing arm are completed). The swing arm needs a little of putty too and the welds again, then I will finish to fit the rear suspension on the lower part of swing arm. Bye! Roca. |

Re: Kr 211v '06
Why not quit working and use all of your time modeling!!
Say Roca, didn't you mention that you would make a very special price for us when done casting? |

Here are only 3 pictures. It seems that I didn't do anything new but I have been polishing the chassis and the swing arm for 3 days and now it seems that the engine can fit on it easily also I finished the front forks (the lower part), I'm VERY tired of this build (but not bored ), now is time to see if all the pieces can fit easily for the people to mount it and this is more difficult than make the pieces. I have to think what system I must use in order to facilitate the construction. Another point that is killing me is what should I do next? Copy the chassis? no! not yet, there are some things that should be checked after to spend 600 or 700g of silicone and this happens to all the pieces I made at the moment. So you can see, It is a little difficult to plan projects like this but I should concentrate in two aspects: the main structure (Chassis and swing arm) and the suspension, sounds easy but there are as always factors that will intervene on this union. I don't know when I will update this but I'm not sure, maybe I will spend some days to see which will be my next movement. Bye Roca. |
