Re: Re: $50,000 for a new car...

The problem with the interior cheap interiors is that I have to spend most of my time in them and when you're stuck in traffic, it's kind of reassuring to be in an ergonomical, comfortable, well built and well-laid out enviroment. Just my $.02

Re: $50,000 for a new car...

have you sat in the zo6 or even a gto, though?
the interior isn't all rattly and buzzy.
sure it's not the uber nice leathers of bmw, but it's by no means shabby.

people automatically assume that since the interior is considered "cheap" in comparison to bmw/porsche/etc, that it's a crappy yugo inside.

having been in both of these cars, and seen the cts-v, i think i could more than deal with the interior for the price and power to price ratio, not to mention the fun to price ratio...

Re: Re: $50,000 for a new car...

I've driven a standard C5 Vette and a Holden Monaro. The Vette interior resembles a melted Jelly-baby and the Monaro interior was the same as a VX Commodore, which wasn't well built, but comfy.

Re: $50,000 for a new car...

i'm not going to be over picky, b/c i don't consider the materials in an interior when i'm picking a car.
i do look for fit and finish, and as long as it's GOOD...
i'm ok with it.
on a side note, i've been in the bmw's as well, and though they had great materials (and honestly, a better gauge cluster) i didn't like the styling.
it didn't "fit" like a sports car should...
the vette, obviously, does...
there are things that could be better in the vette, yes, but for the price:fun ratio, i'll deal...

Re: $50,000 for a new car...

Depends on what you want the car for.

But for me, as a daily driver and weekend racer and pimp mobile i would have to go with the

M3

Re: $50,000 for a new car...

reasoning?
considering that a zo6 is faster, handles better, and less expensive...

looking at it from those points... that's my route...

Lotus Elise if you're going for a balls to the wall performer.

Z06 if you want a sports car you can still daily drive.

M3 if you need the practicality and luxury.

haha, M3 for practicality... Never thought Id ever read that

Yea, I know the Z06 interior isnt bad, but I like the interior of the car to be pretty nice. On a percentage of importance in what I look for in a car, im about 40% luxury/60% performance.

im not quite sure I would say the Z06 outhandles the M... And the base price on the M is lower then the Z06, higher then the standard C5, although theres alot of options for any BMWs, not sure for Chevy.

O, and to Demon_Mustang, the G35 coupe isnt on here cause its outclassed by every car here, and costs much much less ($35,000 fully loaded).

Re: $50,000 for a new car...

what's pricing on an e46, not base, but the avg buying prince?
most likely more than the zo6's avg.
outhandles the m3, i'll stick to that until proven otherwise...

i'm not sure what ou're looking for in an interior, but the vette's interior is not bad. at all...
i realize (or hope) from your name that you've got a bmw, so you're biased, but having owned a vw, chevy (truck), honda, and other cars, i can tell you that after sitting in the vw and audi interiors, and then sitting in a vette, there's nothing wrong with it...
the quality of material isn't as amazing, but fit and finish, as well as the overall "look" of the interior is not any worse than the other cars, including bmw's that i've sat in

The Lada Riva definitely outhandles the Ferrari Enzo.

See the likeness of our statements there? Neither of us reinforced it. Basically handling is very subjective- in itself it technically means the nuetrality in a cars cornering- too much understeer is bad, too much oversteer is also bad, however there are all sorts of other factors that contribute to handling (e.g. Weight distribution, suspension firmess, suspension design etc.)

There is actually no measure of handling other than the Skidpad, that in itself is only there for a vague idea; if we were to use that to base how well a car handles, then a Subaru Legacy 2.5 would outhandle a Z06.

Re: $50,000 for a new car...

Does it... I'd still say the skidpad is a pretty good measure of how it handles.

Re: $50,000 for a new car...

i'm curious about that as well...
i don't see a legacy 2.5 pulling more than a G on the skidpad?
