Yamaha YZF750 Tech 21 Fujimi

After a while e new WIP for 2 bikes, one fo me and another fro a friend of mine.

There is not too much to see but this kit has positive and negative sides.... Positive is detailing, nuts, bolts it's all there. Negative the fujimi engineering. All the tubes connections are missing, the plastic is that kind of "glass" plastic. The building takes a lot of care and putty as you can see from this picture.

I will not fill the gap as these kits will be quite out of the box, and I will spend my time on visible details.
For the moment a lot of metallic shades as per instructions is all silver or chrome silver so using different colors is fundamental

Re: Yamaha YZF750 Tech 21 Fujimi

There is a lot of work before painting so there are small progresses
Clutch:

frame without detail

engines (a lot of tape masking for the alternator)

and forks.... I used the new hase adhesive foil.... fantastic.

Re: Yamaha YZF750 Tech 21 Fujimi

Here they are the 2 front wheels....

Matt clear on the center and satin clear on the outside.
The writings are toned down with grey chalk dust dissolved in satin clear paint.....

Re: Yamaha YZF750 Tech 21 Fujimi

Andrew what brand paint are you using?
Hiroboy was advertising soon the tech21 colors last year but I never saw them listed or a part number for them
The wheel looks great
Thanks

Re: Yamaha YZF750 Tech 21 Fujimi

I'm using Zero piant....
I bought the light blue when it was available, and sent the original decal to Hiroboy to have the dark blue matched. They asked me for the decals....So they sent me a free of charge bottle of dark blue, but the color was wrong (so the decals) and they retired the tech 21 colors.
I made the "lavander" mixing their light blue, galuoises blu and ferrari red... It seems to be the best I could do.....

Re: Yamaha YZF750 Tech 21 Fujimi

Andrew. If I understand correctly then Hiroboy no longer has the paint for the tech21 Yamahas?
I was hoping to get them
I emailed Steve there but I never got a response

Re: Yamaha YZF750 Tech 21 Fujimi

You are right , no more available. As the dark blue was wrong, Steve told me they cannot sell paints which don't match exactly the right colors. They are not able to reproduce the correct lavander as they have no reference. You may try ask him for the light blue....

Re: Yamaha YZF750 Tech 21 Fujimi

I have made the oil tube plug since it lacked....
From this:

to this:

It's the turn of the rear shock..... Some issue as you need to glue some parts together before painting them....so some putty sanding and painting is needed....
