Re: Rossi in faith - FIAT YAMAHA YZR-M1 2009
Hi brothers,
I was so busy around the clock for months and I have made very slow progress until very recent. I have the progress up on my blog http://joey-ko.blogspot.com/search/l...ZR%20M1%202009 and here are some pics for the update. The bike is now about 80% completed and hopefully I can finish it within the week so I can take it for this year's local contest. |

Actually as Froride1 just quoted, I was using similar way to get the weather done. What i did was to first, apply a gloss black as base color for the silver. In this case, I was using Gunze GX-serise. Then with the SM06 silver. I was very conservative with the SM07 by now as it is out of production already....>.< Then I masked some strips over the corners of the exhaust and randomly sprayed some Gunze clear blue and clear red over the masks. I also added a thinner Gunze #157 (super black) to emphaze the shadows and effects. a few more masking, sometimes even overlapping the areas already masked, a rough shading of different color started to appear. Finally, I randomly hand-painted some Tamiya enamal clear blue, clear red and smoke on the pipe. And this make the weathering more natural. At a final touch, I sprayed little silvery very lightly over the entire pipe to give some highlights and de-tuned the deep and overlapped clear colors. That is about all I have done on the pipe. Hope this will work for you as well. |

Based on Joey's response it seems the Top Studio tutorial is a good place to start. Maybe give it a try and see how things turn out. |

Re: Rossi in faith - FIAT YAMAHA YZR-M1 2009
Don't need to read my mind, just read my posting... I was asking how this marvelous work of paint job was done because is unique... anyway, tried the Top Studio many moons ago and is a good paint job but what I see in here is EXCELLENT! No need to reply to my post! Thanks!
