My neighbour electrocuted himself using a heating element in his bath tub... he had natural gas for his water heater, and thought the electricty would be cheaper for a bath... I used to live on a pretty weird street, which is odd in its self, as it was the nicest part of the nicest town in the area...

Well maybe if he hadn't been doing that then he would have not been able to afford food, so would have to sell his flat and become homeless (if mortgage or rented) You have to look at the bigger picture, after all we dont no anything about this man.

Well, I live in a fairly rural area, Comox has about 5000 residents, and there are perhaps 40,000 in the surrounding area. Land is cheap out here, my big house in the best neighborhood cost $130K when we bought it, and we sold it for around $150K 13 years later.

These are Canadian dollars, so that works out to something to the order of 60-70K pounds. I guess it would also be equal to around $90K USD, or Euros.

They seemed somewhat prosperous...
