revell 1/24 audi DTM
Hi
It's first time I posting on AF. Nice to meet you I'm Korean, and I'm not good at conversation in English. But I'd like to sharing my work process with you guys, so I'm writing this on AF Now I'm working revell DTM project since March. ↓ First. Revell kit usually has dull and thick molds and detail. So I focused on reviving body shape and character lines. ↓ Replace some part of deffuser. I used 0.2T aluminum plate ↓ This is the original part ↓ Remove and.. ↓ Cut it to apply aluminum plate ↓ insert and trim it. It's more stronger than just glue the part ↓ After surfacer. It looks better than original, isn't it? PS. PE parts by KA-models Last edited by soono87; 06-29-2011 at 05:23 AM. |

Re: revell 1/24 audi DTM
Thank you for comments!
Continuously.. I did a lot of works and remodeled some parts, but I didn't take enough pictures to introduce it. ↓ I disassembled rear wing because original part is too thick. Trim wings more slim and make new winglets by aluminum plate. And apply CF and decals ↓ I completed brake parts and made new muffler tip using by 6mm aluminum pipe ↓ Assemble wings and exhausts ↓ Biggest work on front body parts.. And apply CF almost parts. |

Re: revell 1/24 audi DTM
Great start!
If I may add one critical comment, I would have taken care of those sink marks on the underbody before applying the CF decals. Keep it up! |

Sweet job on the CF work, those curves look like they would have been a nightmare to cover.

Re: revell 1/24 audi DTM
Hello again!
I'd like to start this post with my favorite work ↓ This is my favorite part, radiator grill! Drill original part and glue PE mash. Make 4 hole on mash for emblem. And make grill border by 0.6mm plastic beam ↓ After that, painting it chrome. I use SMP chrome silver ↓ Finish Wheels&tires. I brought tires by Tamiya DTM kit. Also I added O.Z RACING decal on wheels by Tamiya WRC decal. O.Z decal is not include original Revell kit. Finally, Make tires rough ↓ Another CF works. Nightmare I'm not good at detail works on interior, so some parts are unclean. ↓ Temporary assembly engine and Front radiator parts. Not bad. ↓ Body work. I air-sprayed Finisher's GP1 urethan clear and sanded it. One more clear coat is left. I will spray matt clear on the whole body parts but roof and silver side. Thank you for watching. umm.. maybe 7% more precess left |
