So, when is the new ZMWs really coming out?

Anyone have any Information? My Mercedes is getting really old... and I want to wait for the C-Class diesel... but no telling how long that will take. A cheap stop gap car like this ZMW might make sense.

From what I've heard "ZMW" will be available in 2005. However, they won't be called "ZMW" because BMW threatened to sue, and now I think they're simply going to be called Zastava, which is what they are known as in Yugoslavia.
However, there are some really good low mileage Yugos still out there if you're willing to look, I think there's even a GV+ with 30,000 miles on it, on ebay, and these models are the cream of the Yugo crop, with 1300cc engines, and fuel injection.

I can wait...

but Iy may cause some agrevation... my motors straining under the turbo... and the cars pretty banged up after a few scuffles... but I am not desperate enough to go with a 1991 car. Yugos are notorious for being badly maintained (as are most really cheap cars) and I would be unwilling to buy one used...

The best way is to get one from a person, or family that has owned it since new (or at least almost since new) and has documentation of work and maintenance they've had done on the car. If you find one that's still being used, at least weekly then it's probably still a good car.
I myself would be cautious, for the same reasons as you of any Yugo that has had more than one or two owners.
