V8 Deloreans

Does anyone make a kit to install a GM or Ford V8 into a Delorean? I've seen Delorean's with V8's before and wonder what is entailed. I know all about the Northstar conversion but am more interested in an LT1/LS1 conversion or even a 5.0 Ford. I've even seen a Grand National motor in one a while ago but haven't been able to find any info on it. I really would be in the market to buy a Delorean if I could get info on a swap like the ones I mentioned. TIA.

Haven't heard of too many V8 conversions besides the Northstar...most people either go turbo or get the 200 hp engine from DMC Texas.

There's a DMC with Mazda 20B 3-rotor conversion (about 300hp) and Porsche 6-speed manual with LSD currently for sale, unfortunately he's asking like $30,000, so it's been for sale for a while.

I saw one with a Chev 350. He was at Memphis last year. I'm not sure how much work it took to get it in. I have also seen a Rover V8.

For info on the DeLorean with the Grand National motor go to DeLoreanMotorCars.com. The owner, Rich, also has a forum on there where you can ask him questions.

northstar

My father and I both work at a Cadillac dealership (I work when I'm not in school). I have a basically complete 2000 Northstar V8 lying around. I've always loved the DMC-12 and have wanted one for years. I'm looking to pick up one, with engine problems if possible, and swap in the Northstar.

Anybody know where I can get more info on the swap?

I just saw a D go for $7500 on eBay with a leaking water pump. Too bad I missed it.

there is a bell housing adapter plate that can fit a chevy or buick engine its on ebay motors just search under delorean and i think you will be able find it.

ps if you want a fast car the first step is selling your damn delorean and getting something worth a shit.
