2011 REPSOL Honda RC212V Casey Stoner

Hi, It's been a while since my last post.

This RC212V is built with Max MotoModeling trans kit and mixed with some TAMIYA 2009 YZR-M1 and 2014 RC213V parts for correct details.

The Max MotoModeling trans kits are so rare that some websites even call them "jewels." This kit cost me about $270 but I can say it totally worth it!

Let's take a look on the complete model.

front cowl - with the on-board camera added and the hollow brake lever detail. also notice those plus-rivets around the vacuumed wind screen.

around the top bridge you can see the details been improved. including the brake-adjust dial, resin reservoir tank, etc. the original white-metal grip also been cut and replaced by MFH rubber grips.

the seat cowl wrapped by KA carbon decal (which is discontinued). the clutch slave cylinder and the drive gear guard are transplanted from TAMIYA RC213V kit. there are more detail added such as the Trasmitter box and turned shift linkage. almost all the rivets and bolts, screws are replaced with metal ones.

the HONDA wing emblems are reproduced with T2M metal stickers and coated with 2K clear to add volume and glossy look.

the anti-slip pad were reproduced with adhesive clear film from French brand Blue Stuff. the way to make the bumps is so simple but the outcome is almost perfect.

the RC212V chain and rear sprocket are almost identical to the RC213V's so I just use the full-functional Top Studio chain set to get some more realistic touch.

another angle of the top bridge. the vacuumed wind screen provides great sharpness. center lock nut is from RC213V.

the original design of this trans-kit you should use the under bracket parts of 2009 YZR-M1. but after checking some pictures the correct shape is more like the 2006 ZX-RR so I replaced it.

Top Studio clutch set for 2012-13 RC213V. same as the chain set, you can use it directly on RC212V.

the rear brake caliper and steel brake disc are all from Top Studio detail set for RC213V. looks perfect.

Added rear on-board camera and antenna. around the upper exhaust pipe you can see the springs and heat protect of real silver leaf.

seat rubber is cut out from MFH adhesive cloth sheet. the touch is just like a real one.

the upper-rear on-board camera is copied from K'S wrokshop 2012 RC213V trans kit, as neither the 2009 M1 parts nor the 2014 RC213V is correct. the rear cowl itself is fixed by four 1.2mm minus-rivets.

finally, a snap shot from my desk. the post card of RC212V is draw by Seevert works. He's doing great job painting Japanese motorcycles!

Thank you and see you next time.

Excellent build and what a shame he hung up the helmet when he did.
