Someone please tell me this isn't true about the NSX 0-60 mph time...
I was surfing on the Honda UK website, and it quotes that the NSX does the 0-60 mph in 7.5 seconds! :o Surely this isn't true!? The 911 turbo does it in 4 seconds, as does the 360. Honda is really lagging behind. Also, I've seen economy cars that do 0-60 mph quicker than that. I think I'm gonna have to change my views about this so-called "supercar" :o

0-60 times are vary from year, trim and transmission of car.
slowest that i saw was 1991 NSX with 3.0L engine and automatic transmission, it was doing 0-60 in 5.6sec. fastest is 1999 Acura NSX A. Zanardi Edition, it was doing 0-60 in 4.8sec. |

Although the performance may not be up there with the competition, I can understand why this car is expensive. But none-the-less, I am somewhat disappointed by these figures. |

www.honda.co.uk , and go to NSX, you'll see it around there. I'm not going to try and make a debate out of this, as that has been done to death, but I think that this car is slow relative to the competition. Also, Honda have done everything to replace bhp (damn 280hp law - stupid jap government) with less weight, so some real power is needed.

The NSX Type-S Zero is as a Ferarri F355, and the type-r is faster. The Type-R weighs in at 2800lbs... and will easily stroll through the 1/4 in 12s.
There are as many ferraris that are faster than the NSX as there are slower, not to mention that the NSX embarasses the ferrari in build quality. The only ferrari i would take over an nsx is the enzo, and the enzo retails at $650,000. It has 650hp, and runs a claimed 1/4 in 11.1 Even then, an NSX turbo would move it in range of the hp class, check out www.cybernationmotorsports.com They have a light turbo kit for the nsx set at 10psi that dynoed 430hp on the wheels. Also, Steph Papadakis is running a new NSX 3.0L V6 powerplant for the upcoming drag series this year. It has 1,400hp. It has 11,000rpm heads, a twin turbo setup boosting 25psi, and enough spare parts to build 5 duplicate engines (since the nsx parts are so hard to come by) When asked why he used the nsx engine, he said simply, its the best thing honda makes. Honestly, the only thing I see wrong with the NSX is the fact that the original design didnt base a 3.0L V10 (a la F1) instead of the 3.0L V6.

i saw the NSX-R go against a the Skyline GTR34 someplace in a NSX site. The race was dead even, but it does depend on the driver, so the NSX-R won hittin 12.8 and the Sky GTR34 hittin like 12.9...VERY close and nice race. I'll try to find the site again.

NSX
We have a NSX shop that dynos at Xtreme(my shop) with a turbo kit real mild 5 or 6 Lbs,they pump 360 at the wheels.
I drove one and the power is linear and very useable and this car is like a Vette its not a Drag car. My vette would break 10's EZ with 16 Lbs of boost on a twin I.C.427 C5R motor, however my 9 secnd Cobra out of commision for 5-6 weeks will do low 9's once all the bugs are ironed out.Dave S. PS This car(NSX) is very refined and you got to love the ones this co builds red lining at 9000 rpm what a rush, and handles like on rails, dave |
