Swedish Supercar better than F1
cant believe it
"Swedish Supercar?" I hear you questioning....Well actually yes! The Koenigsegg CC is a brand new supercar from Sweden that is aiming to take the title of the fastest production car away from the McLaren F1! The name of the car comes from Christian von Koenigsegg who is the creator of the whole project, and CC stands for competition coupe. The CC is powered by an all-aluminium Formula 1 derived supercharged V8 engine that produces 650hp and 750Nm of torque. The sprint to 60mph should take only 3.2 seconds! And what's more important is that the CC's top speed will top 240 mph (385km/h)- enough to outgun the production version of the McLaren F1 and make it the fastest production car on earth! Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a six speed gearbox that can either be operated through a wheel mounted paddleshift or a standard gearstick. Also, in true race car form, the car's suspension, brakes and aerodynamics can be adjusted from the drivers seat to meet changing driving conditions. Finally, the expected price of the CC is $300,000 which might sound like a lot but we really think it is a bargain compared to McLaren F1's price. What else can we say? We are really amazed that there are still people so passionate about cars that can succesfully carry out such a difficult and awesome project! The least we can do is include the Koenigsegg in our FantasyCars database as soon as possible so check back for that! |

OK, the engine is a supercharged Ford SVT Mustang V8. Granted, it shares little with the Ford engine now, but it is still a ford engine. Also, people have challenged that top speed, believing it to be closer to 220mph. But good nonetheless.

The Lotec Sirius is by far the most powerful production car built.
V12 turbo 5987 cm³ 1200 hp @ 6800 rpm 958lbs ft@ 3400 rpm Fastest is 2002 Bugatti 16/4 Veyron at 252mph. |

ok... Roadster2, go to Car Comparisons and look for an older thread called McLaren F1 versus Koeniggsegg CC. read that and come back here.
Sindie, the 16/4 hasn't come out yet so there aren't any top speed numbers available. that is one sweet looking Sirius though!!

BTW - The Sirius is not a production car, it's only a concept car right now...

Its one hell of a concept though. While I'd love to have a car like that, I would be pretty damn careful driving it for a long time. That kind of power is outside of anything I've ever driven.

That's kind of why I posted pictures of the car crashes. The power in the wrong hands (including my hands ) is deadly.

Is there a body in that car. I think I see a head in that pic of the car crash. Does anybody else see this?
