Re: Is there anyone who intrested in Chinese Cars?

How can we get them into North America? Do you know if it is not problematic? I have heard some issues over there but nothing seems to be officially true. However I thing that customs will charge big for bringing them in, right?

Theoretically you can import the cars into Canada or the US but it would be pointless because you could never actually license or drive them yet. They do not meet US or Canadian collision and emissions standards.

I read in the Globe and Mail newspaper (in October) the Chinese manufacturers are eager to get into the market here, but the car designs have failed to meet minimum collision standards. The only way for them to do so would be a redesign of the structure, specifically with crash tests in mind. Such a redesign would take time and drive up their design and manufacturing costs. This would somewhat reduce their cost advantage over American, Japanese and Korean cars.

Only if it's from a reputed manufacturer or supplier. In the recent times there have been many scams from China so people are very cautious now from buying anything from China.
