Re: Blackcrow64's Talon Project... Warning: Lots of pictures!

Looks like you did a good job. I have a friend who redid his burgundy interior (300zx) black and it turned out real well. Don't trust that "spray on carpet dye in a can" stuff though. Didn't work worth a crap for us, I told him from the beginning to just replace the carpet or rip it out and dye it properly.

Re: Blackcrow64's Talon Project... Warning: Lots of pictures!

Killer, I properly painted it. I just hope that it all holds up and doesn't flake off or anything... There was a piece I had done several months ago to test it on and after I let it cure properly for a week in a temperature controlled enviroment it seemed pretty strong. I scratched and scratched on it but couldn't get it to come off so I'm hoping that it stays that way with all this too.

As for the carpet, I am gonna finish pulling it all out and properly dye it. I'm not sure if the leather seats can be dyed too or not... I'm kinda leery about doing them as well.

Great project-thread, bro. You should post this in the "Member's Project Cars" forum in the "Cars in General" category.

I love these 2 pics; looks like Christmas morning!

Re: Blackcrow64's Talon Project... Warning: Lots of pictures!

lol Thanks man. There will be more to come as I get more parts and more sections finished... I think sometime this week I am gonna try to get under the hood finished so it'll be ready for bolting new stuff in and the motor and such. The nice thing about such a big project is that when I get tired of the motor I go over to the interior. When I get sick of that, I hop back over to the motor, then over to the wheels, etc. Its kinda nice. lol I'm sure it'll be more frustrating as the project draws near an end. (In a few months, lol.)

Sounds like fun to me, bro. That rust looks like a headache though. Have you decided what color(s) you're gonna paint the exterior? (sorry, I didn't read through the whole thread)

If you cleaned it well, and used either a plastic primer or a good quality plastic paint then you shouldn't have any worries.

Krylon Fusion is teh sHiZnIt. Primered, painted, and clear coated, after it sets right theres not chipping/scratching.

I've already redone the whole exterior in 97 Corvette red. Under the hood will be getting flat black though. I've got the strut towers all hacked up right now and I need to weld new sections back in and it should be good then.

I dont' think I would like a cleared dash, it would be too shiny IMO. I left mine just the paint finish and it's just shiny enough but not too shiny so that it blinds you.

Exactly what I was thinking too. None of the interior parts are really that glossy, they are more of a happy medium. lol

Damn you man! I'm jealous! I wanna see this thing when it's done! Your interoir looks really good too. What did you use (couldn't find it in the thread)? And why didn't you go with DSMLink?

Re: Blackcrow64's Talon Project... Warning: Lots of pictures!

Hopefully I'll have some more pictures here by next week. Its hard to get much done between work and helping my buddy finish up his GSX... I'll have a nice little thread on his car hopefully within the next week too and you guys better be ready for it. Almost a years worth of work has gone into his car and its freaking amazing. You'll all probably be making a mess on your keyboards when you see it. lol
