Cruise control shut down
2002 LS V8.
Should a low fuel condition (or less that 1/4 tank) cause the cruise control to disengage itself.

Re: Cruise control shut down
Is this a common occurrence, or did it only happen once? Ie: does the cruise seem to work fine for 10 miles then shut off, or is it only when the tank is low that you have a problem?

Re: Cruise control shut down
I wouldn't rule out the clockspring.

Re: Cruise control shut down
Quote:
1. The off switch on the steering wheel. A bad clockspring could fool the electronics into thinking this switch was pressed. 2. The brake light switch. If just thinking about pressing the brake pedal can make the brake lights come on, this might be the problem. 3. The hydraulic brake pressure switch. This is a redundant safety cutoff for the cruise control. 4. Not enough engine power to maintain speed. |
