Cruise Control on 02' LS
-02' Lincoln LS
-V8 -Crusie Control Malfunctioning When I replaced my faulty clockspring, I thought it would fix my cruise control problem along with the rest of my clockspring issues. Unfortunately, it did not. My cruise will engage sometimes. However, it only works for a quarter of a mile, or maybe 2 miles, than it shuts off and will not re-engaged. After reading a few post on here, I assume its a "servo motor". Can anyone eleborate on what exactly this is, where it is located, and/or how to test this part to verify it is indeed the culprit? I also seen in one post the mention of a sensor behind the brake booster, is this a legit possiblity? |

When the cruise stops working does the green indicator on the instrument cluster remain on?

Re: Cruise Control on 02' LS
I have a problem with my cruise as well on a 2002 I just purchased. The light on the dash comes on as if the cruise were engaged but as soon as I lift off the pedal the car just drifts down so the cruise is obviously not working.
Any suggestions? Oh, I forgot to mention mine is a V6 |

Re: Cruise Control on 02' LS
I'd start by checking the linkage from the servo to the throttle body to make it is in good shape.

Re: Cruise Control on 02' LS
Thanks, I'll start there.
BTW I posted in the thread about the AC blowing hot on one side and cool on the other. I have this problem intermittently as well. I ran both self-diagnostics that were suggested and each time recieved no codes, just the entire display lit up. Could this indicate that the system might just need recharged? |
