Whats Faster S2000 Vs 350Z??

I ALSO READ IT IN R&T. I CANT FIND THE ARTICLE BUT THE S2000 IS .1 FASTER

as to your virtual engine stuff the Z has a better power to weight than the s2000 and actually has torque.

s2000 ptw 11.8 2835lbs 240hp 161tq
350Z ptw 11.4 3197 lbs(track and base model weights) 287hp 278tq

so how is the s2000 faster?

i have a 2003 350z. its a track with the brembos. its fast but the handling of the track Z is unbelievable. where ever you point the wheel it goes there no problem at all. FUN FUN FUN

I have similar experiences in my TT . . . just smack the throttle and its pointing in the right direction . . . with the front or rear *LOL* I really need some traction rods

JCCR i hate to repeat myself but read the above and go to the sites, then say the S2000 is faster. As for my calculator, it's only for ball park figures not fact.

yeah i read alot of places that the s2000 is faster when the 350z first came out. but now that the 350z has been out a few years, i think it has been proven that the 350z is a tad faster.

Sorry if I have a attitude problem, but I deal in facts and try very hard not to make statments without being able to back them up. Sorry but I can't take any drugs, unless their approved as I have a comp. drivers licence, plus a ATP and they could be taken away if I tested pos.

The Z is faster according to magazine data and my previous races, but the S2000 is a nice vehicle. Next thread please

Everyone seems to be missing the point. Most cars are pretty good engineered pieces of equipment. Some handle better than others, or are faster, or have this or do that, but the botton line is most are a engineering marvel. Once every so often the engineers come up with a combination that make a car a little bit better and Ford has done that many times. To continue having pissing contasts as which car is faster is a subject that well never end, cause the fastest car today well be sucking hind tit tomarrow. The car manufactures don't want to be losers and want the baddest, fastest best looking car out there, and for us as the consumers, this is great cause we have a choice of anything you could ever dream of. The super cars of yesterday are getting there ass kicked by the supercars of today, as the supercars of today well get there ass kicked by the super cars of tomarrow. And thank God for that, cause we just keep getting better and better cars every year.
They build semi trucks for circle track racing and there fast, but to compare them with a Indy race car is like comparing a school bus to a taxi cab.
When comparing cars you must look at weight, power, skid pad performance, braking ect. ect. You don't have to be a engineer to know that a 3,500 lb car with 300 HP cannot compete with a 2,500 lb car with 250 HP anymore than expecting a standard production car to compete with a 2,400, 750 HP Ruf Porsche.

Then I didn't do too bad, as no humour was intended, so being a weak attempt isn't too bad, considering the source of the above statement. As for the trophy, don't waist your money, just give it to the United Fund and write it off your taxes.

theres more to cars than power to weight... a lot more...and a 2200lb 135hp is totally different to a 4400lb 270hp car in every way, even though they have the same power/weight.... then there is suspension, drivetrain efficiency, the chassis, aerodynamics, so many things. so yeah...just my 2c

haha sorry to post this a month after the last post but I just wanted to say this. I owned a S2000 before I bought my 350z. I know the 350z is faster in the straights. If you guys want to talk about track races with many corners, then the S2000 will have a very good chance of passing and beating the 350z. I took out my 350z to a track to see if it really was better then the S2000. Here is what I found out.

In high speeds when going into the corner if you do not know how to control the car with the throttle it will have lots of understeer. The S2000 when following will be much faster in the corner and will catch up no matter how hard the 350z tries. It isn't as good as the S2000 during the corners. On the exit it is a different story. Same as in Drag races. With better suspension the 350z might be able to handle as well as the S2000 but when its in its stock form, S2000 will beat it in the corners.

So unless the track has many straights, the S2000 really has a high chance of winning. Just my two cents hope it helped.
