Tamiya MX5 "Faux Cup" street/track tribute car
This was my project to work on during this year's 24 Hours of LeMans. I decided to build a non-LeMans car, Tamiya's ND MX5 with Studio 27's decals for a Japanese series that mimic some of the Global Cup presentation car's graphics.
I decided to build it as a tribute car, a street/track day toy. In addition to the S27 graphics, I used some Tamiya parts-box wheels (I think from a Subaru rally car??), they fit perfectly. I used some Pegasus low-profile tires. The stance you see is completely the OOB setup on the MX5. I added a modified roll bar left over from a Revell '67 Camaro, some of the Hobby Design detail set for this model, and I cut down the antenna to more of a Stubby style like I have on my NC MX5. I made a custom tag as well. This was a fun project, and I've also been painting/prepping parts for my Plamoz RF conversion which is next. This is what it looked like at the start of the race: This is at the end of the race: And now after finishing the last details:

Sensational! I think you may have come up with the ideal colour scheme for the ND. Just perfect.
