Talking The Need For Legal Speed! BESIDES The Lt4.

Ive Been Doing A Little Research But Not Enough On The lt4 Conversion Kit. Some Say Its A Good Idea And Some Say There Are Much Better Ways To Gain Horse Power. I Was Told That The Kit Will Only Add About An Additional 85 To 90hp. I Really Dont Feel Its Worth $2500 Buck If Im Only Gaining That Much Horse Power. I WANT TO GET MY MONEY'S WORTH IF IM SPENDING ALMOST 3 THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR HORSEPOWER. Any Suggestion?

Re: The Need For Legal Speed! Not The Lt4.

Ported stock heads, 2.02-1.60 valves, Comp .510/.540 cam (08-306-8), appropriate springs and screwed studs, stock bottom end, stock TB, good exhaust, and net 385 ft/lbs @ 4,500 / 412 HP @ 6,000 RPM.

That whole episode set me back only $1,100, but I did the machining myself. That's well beyond the stock HP and torque of the LT4, and for a lot less money.
