Problems with svt??
I am thinking of getting a 99 svt but I was wondering what any common problems with them are. Any common problem that i should watch for when i get it or is it a piece of s?*# that I just shouldn't waste my time with in the first place.

You're a brave guy, I was thinking of buying a Mustang back in 2000 but changed my mind because of the problems the company was having with safety and quality. Maybe they're getting better now? I'll let you pave the way for us.

the waterpumps on the contours are known for breaking since the impellar is plastic and usually break around 70K. might want to upgrade to the metal impellar one, or if you want to free up some horsepower, get the electric waterpump that BAT sells.
a few contours have had problems with oil starvation during hard right turns and spun rod bearings. also, get a dual mode dampener to help the engine rev smoother and cut down on the crank whip.
