97 Malibu Anti-Theft Radio Unlock code????

does any one know the unlock code for a 97 chevy malibu, i recently was robbed and my after-market radio was stolen. so now im trying to re-install the factory tape deck, cept i dont have the unlock code for the anti-theft system on the radio.... can anyone help me out?

Call your local dealer, they are the only ones that can help you.
You will need to install the radio and they will guide you through the procedure to get the six digit code and change it over to the four digit unlock code, it only takes a few minuits.

I won't help you here, because the dealer who does it may want to confirm that you are the owner of the car.

Obviously you can't give me the code, but is the story the same for the 01 malibu, just a phone call and some numbers puched in, or does it require the dealer to change it for me? Thanks.

where did u find that owner manual to download??? i been lookin and cant get it and the dealer wanna charge me 50 bucks to unlock the code on a radio that i got from a junk yard

I think it has all the owners manuals I did my 2000 malibu and added it to my favorites but that won't unlock the radio as the code in owner made. but the override if needed read previous posts.

I just bought a 2000 Malibu and the radio / CD player is working but I am looking to fet the code so IF its activated i can unlock it. It may have the lock de activated in which case it don't matter but I would try 000 just to see if that is how it comes new and has been reset . just a thought.
