Re: Need EGR valve removed and cleaned

I have a 79 club wagon... so i dont know if this would be the right procedure/thing to do for your year, but through advise i heard and what i did for my egr was, dismount egr from manifold ,clean out carbon from the egr itself and the manifold ports "i was carefull not to let carbon particle's slipping into manifold-i dont know if it matter's but i would rather be safe than sorry" and then i sprayed out the egr with carbcleaner VERY well..... then "i dont know if it matters" but i let it air out for 24 hours before bolting back on "i was afraid of fire/combustion" i would sudjest replaceing the gasket also "costs about 2 dollers"....i just put a VERY thin layer of hi-temp gasket sealent on it.

thats just what i did... "read it online" it didint fix "my" problem but man...it needed it:P
