Great! Davidoff's #03R!!!!
BUT......BUT it has not IXO's model, or is it?
I don't know any manufactrurer who has done this Davidoff's livery.

This is IXO's version what I have.
The remarks on the stand are missing yours Davidoff and there is difffereces on the roof of the livery, racing number is different place......
So what is it? What is the race, where that different Davidoff's were used?! (Everytime, same thing; I don't know enough of these GTR's)

Re: The Definitive McLaren F1 Scale Model List.

Check out the box behind the model - it's a Minichamps for a bargain price too (nowhere near the price on the link!)........

As for the number locations, they were in 2 places at different times -

on the door for Monza

in front of the door behind the front wheel for Suzuka

Re: The Definitive McLaren F1 Scale Model List.

OK, I didn't had time earlier start research my image folders. Good information once again! This #03R chassis starts to be one of the most interesting chassis ever.......

And before I forget, thank you rare image of #03R at Monza and Suzuka! I didn't had those images before.

Re: The Definitive McLaren F1 Scale Model List.

I know this dude named Andy Blackmore, and it would be super cool if you got him to autograph the box on that last one.

Also wanted to say that I am quite thankful I haven't been bitten by the 1/43rd scale bug. Yikes!

Frank Muller looks brilliant, like the San Miguel livery also!
But very glad to see, that you've got the JJ's Le Mans #12R!

Re: The Definitive McLaren F1 Scale Model List.

They mean something to me -

#13R because that's the GTR I saw being unloaded at Genesis
#12R because I keep seeing it at Goodwood
#06R because I too often see it at Goodwood, but I love the livery of it in this model
#07R because I love the colouring
#03R because, as well as alot of other like-minded people, view it as the most beautiful short tail GTR
#11R as it is in the one model I really wanted; great colouring, still in its original box unlike newer #11R's on eBay at the moment, and I can sell it to make way for the Silverstone Autobarn model later on

hurstg01: welcome to the club of AutoBarn McLaren F1 GTR collectors! And good way to start it with the AM005, if it was your first!

Even though IXO makes some of the GTRs cheaper, for me they are not real things as they use always the same base molds: LM'95 winner for all short tails and Gulf #41 for all long tails. And now is really a good time to grab on to those better ones (AutoBarn, Minichamps) as they have come down considerably in prices from the high prices of 2006, when people really paid insane amounts of money for some of the popular ones (Marlboros, Larks, Davidoffs, etc.). This year I have almost completed my Minichamps Le Mans 1/43 collection (1995-98) as there hasn't been new AB's GTRs since last year.

Yep, IXO's are good, but lacking some details. That's why I'm consider those at the future more closely, is it worth even it's cheaper than others. Still I wanted some of those, because name of J.J Lehto on the door. Minichamps are still expensive to me, but the quality is many times better than IXO's have, that's why at the future more Minichamps to me and maybe Autobarn, if the prices are reasonable.
