Question Say how?

I know for Skoda from days before VW bought them. Was not better, nor worse then other eastern europian car manufacturer. It is obvious from nowadays that they did good job, with joining VW group. I am interested in how they did it? Did Check republic it self, helped in that transaction? What Skoda (or Check) had to promise VW? How many workers have been in Skoda before and after VW bought it? How much money VW spent in factory refinement, did they bring all new, or something was kept? If you know could you please put a light on this topic. Thanks.
