Re: BMW M3e30 1/24

thank u mike. I would probably make the racing version. Have some decals to make Emanuele Pirro car, as well as I would like to make Ravaglia dtm car too.

Also I collect some reference pics for anyone interested in making this car:

also opening door line must be corrected. Misteriously fujimi made it curved while in reality is nearly straight...

body nearly complete...for now..

Re: BMW M3e30 1/24

time ti refill the front lip. I wanted to make it a little bigger in the beginning to have more material to cut down in appropriate shape. Now is the correct size and shape. Mostly was waiting for a good dremel blade saw to make it without "eating" too much material.
ALso the first door panel line has been refitted and cleaned. Mikhail was too right in correcting it on his model, and is always too useful study his works. This is a line some modellers cant neither note...

then time to remake the front and rear windshield. For this I used a clear plastic box.The front one has been thermoformed over the original one provided in the kit, to increase just a little the overall dimension not fitting any longer after the cutting of the front pillars.
Side windows are straight ones, so no problems with theme

litte by little is taking the shape. Cant wait to start paint the body in the typical motorsport colors, even if before must prepare all the inner rollcage.

As it comes from original fujimi box it looks like a volvo 850 sedan, more than a BMW (nothing against my beloved volvos. own also one, even if much newer one..)
Real "rest models" to be build straight from the boxes are imho only recent tamiya/aoshima kit. These old fujimi are rare, expensive and quite ugly in look.Even more with box tiny wheels.

Yep, I recognize myself from this description!

You're doing absolutely fantastic work, keep on going! I bought this Fujimi kit once from eBay and when I opened the box, I was like...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGnIRV4bVy0

...so I traded the kit asap to some poor soul. Luckily I did not pay too much of it

Are you visiting any modelling events in Sweden, CCM or GGG? I was at CCM this year, good expo

Re: BMW M3e30 1/24

hi spede, thanks for the kind words.
Mr bean is always right...the disappointing feeling over fujimi box is exactly as in his gag
Suspect Mr. bean anyway had even more disappointing when he totalled his mclaren f1 some yrs ago . lucky he was not hurted anyway

dont think for now to be able to finish something for scandinavian modelling contest, cause I still miss part of the stuff to paint up there, but maybe if something around Gothenburg area and I am there in the dates I will surely visit theme (in summetime I am also a sailing istructor ,reason why I slow down a little my modelling in summertime ....

From all the pics I've seen around also from friends from ipms sweden, the quality level of the models is always impressive.
