I have a 97' I purchased in 00' with 65K miles.
7 years later I'm sitting at 210K and going strong...

Replaced the following:
-Altinator
-Radiator
-AC Compressor
-Driver Side Wheel Bearing
-Driver's Door Window Motor

-- Normal rear and tear...

I have 230k miles and still running... All runs great and have had to repair to usual items that a car of this many miles has -- wheel bearings, battery, brakes, etc.

I have a 1997 with 255,000 miles. I am presently doing enough preventive maintenance to get it to 300,000 +. Just bought my wife a new car and she can't understand why I don't get a new one and why I insist in keeping the Aurora, it is simple, I really lke the car!

Just turned 280K Nov 2009), still running and looking good!

1996 w/ 180k. I bought it for my wife used in 01 with 85k on it. She loved it! When I bought her a new one I decided to keep it for myself instead of driving my full sized pick-up. I've got a leaky head gasket, (my own fault, poor maintenance), that I tried to fix with Heal-a-Seal. Worked great for about 7k miles but now is leaking again. Just replaced a fuel pump and the lock-downs on the tank were disintegrated so I had to get creative to keep it in place. I've got some flakey intermittent wiring things going on, like, the dashboard lights don't always come on when the automatic headlights do. I'll be driving down the road and all of the sudden they will pop on. My wife can't believe I keep piecing it together instead of just letting it die.

I love my car and can't imagine giving it up but I don't think it's going to last much longer. This has been a great car!! It's going to be hard to find a comparable replacement.

My cousin bought a 95 Aurora with 185k on it in 2007 and and it now has roughly 290k. Bought from a school teacher and was in very good shape. Now the car is starting to show its age, no turn signals,no air conditioning(it is charged but the climate control has a mind of its own), the hub cap centers fell off, the radiator cracked and they replaced it. That is about all I think they've done to the car. Still runs great

I have a 1998 oldsmobile aurora just turning 140,000 miles, just did a full tune-up on it, and replaced passenger side inner and outer tie rod ends. New brake rotors and pads in the front also! Everything works on this car including the a/c blows cold. Very nice driver. Gone on many comfortable long trips. Saddly this car will be going up for sale soon do to a growing family Anyone interested?

I have a 2001 Aurora 3.5L with 145,000 miles on it. Bought it in 2002 with 22,000 miles. It runs great and still looks great. It has needed some work over the years. I just bought some parts online from Rockauto that I'm installing this weekend - new secondary air pump, drivers door lock actuator and replacement coolant level sensor. The air pump is making a noise like it is near end of life, the door lock actuator works 9 of 10 times and the coolant level sensor needs replacing. I drive from Portland to Seattle 2 to 4 times per week and enjoy the comfort of the car. I've only taken it into the dealer 4 times over the years for repairs, everything else I've done myself. The two worst repair jobs were replacing the high pressure hose to the power steering pump and the other was replacing the crankshaft position sensor. My last trip to the dealer was when I had a flashing check engine light due to a misfire on 3 and 5 and I was out of town. The dealer diagnosed it as needing a new fuel filter and an injector cleaning. It worked great after that and didn't cost much.

I have a 2002 aurora 3.5 bought in 2007 with 112,000 and now have 201,000 kms. I drive daily 200kms for work.

blower motor
secondary air injection
coolant flush

things in the last 6 months

tune up - spark plugs, trans fluid, brakes and rotors, rear shocks, tires

currently at 201,000 kms

My Aurora is a 96 with 367568 it has a new transmision, new AC, new shocks, new strutz, new water pump, new power steering, new radiator, new wheels, new tires,getting ready to paint. Runs like new.....
