Post Your Pics & Videos ***56K WARNING***

Man, this poor forum has been dead for quite awhile. I guess it is time to help jump start it again.

How about posting a pic of you and your bike. Don't be shy. I'll go first.

Thanks SL and good pics. Man, it's been a while since we chatted. How's it going? Yeah, we Honda MX owners have to stick together. Nothing like a Honda. Takes a lickin' but keeps on tickin'.

It's always clean. Didn't ride it much this year. Maybe about 10 hours worth of riding time to date. Too busy with the GTP out at the strip this year. You know we don't get much rain out in the desert Southwest so no mud, no mess. Just some dust and sand. Easy to clean off.

I'm trying out my new Sony 7 mp digital camera. Still trying to get the hang of it and figuring it out. Once I do I'll post some action pics. Later Dude.

Re: Post Your Pics

I did not get as much riding as I wanted to do either. There was so many times where I had to work on the 3000GT, attend some gathering, or it was too wet. We did do some riding this year (my father and I usually meet up and go together) at Timber Ridge in Iowa in the Loess Hills. It has a 9 1/2 mile enduro trail along with countless other spots to ride there. CRF held up real well this year too...no blown motor The only thing it really needs replaced as of right now is the front pads and rotor. I think I will be able to squeeze the rear tire in for another season but we'll see. It goes through tires like I go through socks. Within the next few years I may end up getting another bike but if I do it will just be a newer CRF450R as I would rather be riding this bike than any other bike out there. Out of all the bikes I have ever ridden I have never been so pleased as I have with this one. I'll try and get some new pics sometime soon and post them since most of these pictures are fairly old.

Re: Post Your Pics

I wish we had some better riding areas but the city is growing too much. We lost some of our favorite riding areas to development.

Yeah, I know what you mean on the tires. I've been through so many rears that I lost track. What brand tires are you using? Generally, I use the Dunlop D756 intermediate/soft terrain tires but this year switched to a D739 intermed/hard tire. I have new disc pads as spares but the old ones are still good hopefully until the end of the year. On the second set of plastic combination of UFO and Acerbis.

CRF450 are great bikes. I still haven't taken the plunge on a new bike yet but had a Yamaha YZ426F thumper in the past.

I'll post some more pics and maybe streaming video later on.

Re: Post Your Pics

I can't recall the exact model but I use Dunlops as well. I would like to get some video and more pictures on here. I need to get a digital video camera first lol. I can get some more pictures hopefully within the next few weeks and post some more up. I have actually been thinking of getting a new silencer as well. Just toying with the idea since the one I have now is so loud. It is a White Bros R4 silencer and it does little silencing. I remember the first time it was started it was idling for a bit and my dad came up and gave the throttle a little flinch and I about jumped out of my boots. Sounds nice if you have a helmet on but it can be a little much at times.

Re: Post Your Pics

Yeah, I recall most of the CRF450 owners that I know and ride with stick with the FMF brand on the exhaust system and silencer. Whereas the two stroke guys with CR250Rs go with Pro Circuit. I've got the Pro Circuit Platinum expansion chamber and a PC R304 silencer. Still have to repack the silencer once a year.

Here is an old video but with an older digital camera where I was testing out some jetting changes. Nothing spectacular. Hopefully this new Sony digital camera with video/sound works out OK.

Re: Post Your Pics & Videos

Video didn't seem too shabby I just wasnt getting much audio at all. So what are some of the bikes you have owned in the past and bikes you have ridden before? I grew up on almost strictly Honda XR's haha. My first bike was an old Yamaha minibike (I believe 60cc), after that I got my first XR which was a XR80. After that came the almight XR100. Then I upgraded to the more full size looking XR200. I quickly outgrew that and got a XR250 that was almost brand new. I felt I needed more power even still, a lot more along with better suspension so I got a XR400. That thing was a wheelie monster, just a little throttle with a that torque and a heavier flywheel you could slow wheelie that thing for hours if you wanted haha. But in time I thought I needed a bike that was not so heavy and more nimble, and yes, with a little more power too. I bought my CRF450R and never looked back. Other bikes I have ridden are the KTM 200EXC, Kawasaki KDX220, Yamaha TT-R, CR250R. That is all that comes to mind right now.

Oh, sorry about that no audio on that one. Cheapy digi cam.

What a coincidence! My first bike was a Yamaha 80 scrambler. Yamahahaha! It had the mid exhaust and semi-knobby tires. I got bored with it so modded it with an expansion chamber, gearing, full knobbies and had the cylinder plus head redone. Next dirt birt was a Honda SL100. I modded it and ran it out at the local MX track in the 100cc class. Wasn't too bad for a 4 stroke. Highest I ever got was 4th place. But it was hard to beat those 100cc Hodaka Super Rats that dominated that class. So I did the next best thing and bought a Super Rat but with the 32mm Amal carb and reed valve modifications. Took 1st place in the 100cc amateur class that year. Long time ago.

Then moved up to the 250cc class with a Yamaha YZ250. Stopped racing after that. In between I had a Yamaha DT1 250cc Enduro and then a RT1 360cc enduro. Needed them to get to work but still do some trail riding.

Later on a Suzuki 250cc Enduro and then a Yamaha MX YZ426F thumper. Sold it before the top end needed an overhaul and got a good deal on the CR which I am happy with. I'd love to get a Service Honda CR500 but it is expensive and still a two stroke. But it will definitely give you a rush. CRF450 is a possibility but I'll still keep the CR.

And the list doesn't count my street bikes but that is a different topic.

Re: Post Your Pics & Videos

That is the thing for me, I have ridden two strokes and they were ok but to me (and this is just me) I love to have power everywhere on the power band. I rode my dad's KTM 200EXC and there was one time I punched it and leaned back a bit to punch it but there was nothing. So, right after that I punched it agian and it was at it's peak spot in the power band and I damn near flipped the thing backwards. It just seems like two strokes are all or nothing for power. But then agian I grew up on four strokes so that is what suits me best.
