’03 2500-how much will it tow…

Hi, looking for a tow rig. Got a K1500 ‘Burb that needs to be replaced.
I think I’d like to go with a ’01-’03 Dodge this time. Looks like from what I’ve read the ’03 is much improved over the ’02.
I need to pull an ~1800 LB car hauler + ~4000 LB TJ and ~850 LBS of ATV’s

Does the “towing package” option include 4.10’s and a V-10?, or what..
How do the 6 cyl diesels pull?

Looks like the 360 and the 46RE would be OK for what I have now, but might get a toy hauler/camper down the line…

Like to hear from anybody haulin something similar to what I’m towing weight wise with the ‘03, what options you have--
suggestions are welcome!

TIA, Tom

Just a note....my brother has the V10 and gets about 6mpg when towing heavy stuff. If you're concerned about mileage, get the diesel.

UPdate: My brother traded his V10 for the diesel, is now getting 18mpg instead of 11 while empty.

And, he likes the diesel better.
