03 Ram, electrical problem, wont run
Possible electrical problem, need some ideas.
The first day, when I got in and started the truck the check gauge light came on, the voltage gauge was not working, the needle goes to the middle when first started then goes all the way to the left, and soon after driving it the check engine light came on with a camshaft position sensor malfunction code. It kept running. The next day everything was fine, no codes and the gauge worked fine. The day after that it got worse. check gauge light came on for the same gauge(voltage gauge), and it barely would run, and it through more codes. Crankshaft position sensor and multiple cylinder misfire, but no camshaft sensor code this time. Now it doesn't run at all, will start but stalls right out. I visually checked all the wiring and it seems fine for those sensors. I checked my schematics and don't see any thing common between the gauge and those sensors. Any ideas????? |

Since it's electrical, you might clean the battery connections.

Re: 03 Ram, electrical problem, wont run
I cleaned them, the battery is about 2 months old. The powertrain control module is what they have in common but its expensive so I just replaced the crankshaft position sensor and it started to run for now, but the voltage gauge still doesn't work. I have 14 volts at the battery when its running.
