Re: BMW M3e30 1/24
the trasparents are just coming from the achetate box u can find in shop selling t-shirts and underwears. I just check the ones with less scratch. material is very easy to glue and moulded with hairdryer. works nearly perfectly for windshields and side windows.

Re: BMW M3e30 1/24
back on this model too.
Started apply decals. will finish it in Emanuele Pirro livery /Macau 1990. Decals from msm creations. very good quality. decal apply is very long cause car is nearly completely covered by sponsors.

Re: BMW M3e30 1/24
had a lot of troubles in glossy and polishing.
The biggest is that probabloy I work with too few glue and those heavy cut/paste parts makes the model really fragile. During the glossying had some issue with gx100 thinner. probably something mistaken in thinnering it cause it seems like to make a white powder in some area. dunno what is due this for. maybe humidity?. the sanding and polishing was a real hell. is horrible work feeling a lot of crakk crakk crakk allover the model. the fear to break something is always high. add to this this car has a lot of area (like the blacks around windows) that is flat or semi/gloss. Anyway here is what I did

Re: BMW M3e30 1/24
thank you my friend. yes the livery is quite extreme, just not to make the usual warsteiner bmw.
This one was used by a great italian pilot. emanuele Pirro, several times le mans winner with audi, and a great modeller too... Nearly done with decals btw. with all m3 gauges in position I finally can see clearly the car, and the resul is really convincing. The clear parts are made in acethate. It is possible to use still the fujimi front windshield, cause they made it quite big in the original bizarre moulding. ps. always sorry for the pics. new iphone arriving in few days. I am done with lumia stuff... Make a wip takes a lot of time to modelling, I feel it a lot this time, but want to complete this, at least in my fav. car modelling forum

Just thinking at the original stuff you find inside fujimi box: and at what with surgeon I tried convert into ..this said, I really HOPE some company will make it. also slot, also in resin or whatever, but for any bmw lover is a must have the e30 in the own collection

Re: BMW M3e30 1/24
and then time to complete the body with side windows. as said I made all theme with clear acethate. last decal to apply will be name Pirro on the rear side windows. The car will be a curbside, so waiting just to complete the moke up of the few interior, and terminate it with its setup
... and then time to update also two other orojects sitting here near... and lets update each wip then...

Re: BMW M3e30 1/24
Great build!
I know this is really too late, but I stumbled over some reference pictures of this M3 last night while looking at the Zakspeed website. http://www.zakspeed.de/index.php/de/...07-bmw-m3.html In the last images it is restored as the Pirro car even :-) /Johan |

Re: BMW M3e30 1/24
Ok then, after the possibility to buy extra parts from the beemax m3 I can finish this car.
I think looking back now, and after all my efforts to have a decent shape for this e30, I will go for a raced/wet finish for her. Also gave 4 rain tires on those studio27 metal rims ( they were expensive nearly as the entire beemax kit, lol 😂. That’s how it goes in modelling, now the trick is just to make a realistic racing weathering...

Re: BMW M3e30 1/24
so I weathered the body with smoke and oil paints, trying to save the shade on main windshield from wiper
when I started this model I didnt had proper documentation on the interiors. then we discover the cockpit was red, so must cut away from inside that resin part beneath the rear windshield. The beemax parts are exactly the missing parts for this project cool also to note how fujimi made the box under chassis. I didnt know (for them) it was identical to the mercedes 190 evo dtm.. LOL so happy I can finisch this car really...

Re: BMW M3e30 1/24
so happy for the ban find i could do after that guy asking for a spare beemax part in the general section of the forum.
the parts I found are exactly what I need, seems incredible i can finally give an end, i hope decent, to this extremely hard model. The cockpit needs minor fitting, measures match nearly perfectly to what I did here, only I recognize my hand was a little bit different and now some solutions I would have made different, and probably better. Looking the body parts also, it seems to me beemax made the last evolution of the m3, with bigger and wider rear lights. while fujimi made the first edition, with (for me) more familiar dimension on rear lights. Cockpit of this racer is red then, I will not do so much more than standard assembly cause i have also dusted windows. a real pleasure to see such parts that I had to scratchbuild then... really easy life, bella vita, tutto molto bello... and here with upcoming sisters. I am quite busy in those days.. more pictures of the finished car in the completed section. Note in those pictures I made a mistake with rear wheels (red and blue central bolt dont match), I fixed it already... Thanks for watching guys, hope u like it.
