opel help

So i've got a 1970 Opel GT thats starting to get a little frustrating. its been parked for 20 years and i'm trying to restore it. But i cant get the thing to run. it'll start up for a couple seconds then die. it's not the carb, theres a good spark, good compression, and i've played with the timing with no results. you guys got any ideas???
