Re: Lola T-70 Mk III

I reworked the way the mirrors mount to the car. The tabs were kind of clunky (and the blue plastic is proving to be very brittle).

I cut off the tabs and made new ones and receivers in the fenders out of brass.

Re: Lola T-70 Mk III

The forward bulkhead was not a very good fit. I didn't realize how much of an issue it would be when I first installed it so I had to disassemble the oil coolers and do some additional fitting and filling so the body sections would continue to align properly.

Re: Lola T-70 Mk III

To commemorate the two year anniversary of the start of this project I made this filler cap.
Machined and hand finished aluminum fitted to a brass mounting tube.

Re: Lola T-70 Mk III

The rear section received reinforcements for the exhaust brackets as well as for the two upper supports.

I also added the frame rail for the spare tire hold-down. More aluminum and some styrene.

It's getting tight back there, but the tire fits and can still be removed.

Re: Lola T-70 Mk III

I finished the spare tire. The wheel is made from scratch; the tire is from the kit.

Re: Lola T-70 Mk III

I made new hinges for the engine cover; the original ones I made took up space the spare tire needed to fit into and still be removable.
