Re: Problem with Revell-USA Ferrari California release

Just had the same issue 2 years ago, then contacted the Revell service but both California's already are out of production.... so no spares for the body. I had to buy another kit, a close top that i will cut in a open top.
Revell is now on my black list!!

Great paint job on your Californias trio, the Rosso Fuoco one is amazing.

Thanks! Polishing 2K is a pain, but menzerna products helped a lot.

Re: Problem with Revell-USA Ferrari California release

I'll chime in. Really good paintjobs! Great job on the clearcoating. 2k sometimes has a nasty habit of "rounding off" all panel lines if applied too heavy. Looking like you've dipped the model in syrup. You have avoided that!

Best regards!

Emil

Hahahaha...that was in 2015. Still not finished, but I have made progress recently! The interiors are nearly done, but still have the chassis and engines to assemble and finish polishing the hardtop. In this mock up, I've found some interference between the chassis and the interior tub. Never-ending issues with Revell kits - though they can be built up nicely.

Re: Problem with Revell-USA Ferrari California release

Yes i build both versions. The body of the closed top was warped and didn’t fit the chassis. Lucky i could replace it for free from Revell Germany. The window frame on the open top is bended and missing a chromed headlight. I didn’t replace it and finished it as is, but the bended window frame is not visible after installing the trimming.

Re: Problem with Revell-USA Ferrari California release

Alas, this is as far as I got - some mock-ups and little parts like the lights - so I won't be entering the modeling contest this year, but I'm getting close to finishing these. Really, the most significant thing I have to do now is finish the ride height on two, and fit HD wheels to one.
