Electric door lock issue "weird one"
So I had my 95 GMC jimmy jumpstarted the other day and it shorted something out because now the electronic locks on all 4 doors no longer work (It's not the fuse) though when I do pull/re-insert the fuse the doors lock automatically) luckily the electronic unlock on the rear hatch still works as I have no key for any of the doors.
Friend had me disconnect the battery for a few minutes in hopes of reseting the internal computer but it had no effect. Was hoping someone could give me some pointers on what might be wrong. |

Re: Electric door lock issue "weird one"
There's very likely a fuse somewhere, likely underhood near the battery, that blew due to a voltage surge from the jumpstarting. Or, maybe someone momentarily connected the jumper cables or jump starter box backward and blew a reverse protection diode, which is likely also located in an underhood fuse/relay box.
I know you mention it's not the fuse, but have you checked all fuses inside the vehicle and under the hood to make sure there isn't one that is blown? It may not be one clearly labeled as for the power locks. -Rod |

Maybe you need to update software in the control unit.
