remove window crank handle?

'87 standard P/U, can't open either door. Just installed new exterior handle on driver side door. First time I close the door I raise the exterior door handle and hear the parts inside the door fall. Door handles - both inside and outside - now do nothing.

So I'm thinking if I can take off the window crank I can get the whole trim panel off, crawl in & put things back together to open the door at least once. Except I don't know how to take off the window crank handle.

Once I get the door open I'm hoping to put those rods inside the door together right so it operates reliably, but there don't seem to be 2 ways to do it ...

Re: remove window crank handle?

there is a clip pin that holds it on.

press the panel back towards the door and look at the spindel part of the handle ..

it is shiney silver clip ..

pull it out..
