Water Pump Removal??

Help? The water pump on my '96 1.4 L Corsa/Barina started to leak and I am trying to remove it. I have the timing belt off and the three bolts that are supposed to hold it in place off. But the horrible thing wont budge. I have tried tapping it quite hard and applying CRC liberally and removed the hose from the back of the pump and tried tapping on the rear of the pump ....all to no avail. Any ideas? I have never removed one before. Are they all this stubborn? It seems to have welded itself to the engine block. What are the tricks to removing this stubborn devil? Any help is hugely appreciated. Thanks.
