Almera 2006 replaced engine, need help

Hi, Bought a almera, it turns out the Timing chain had stretched and engine over heated, so I replaced the engine which all is ok but I am having trouble with the power steering its making a lot of noise and the steering is not smooth, I know what you are going to say " There's air in the system" But how do I get it out, I have tried all the normal methods but still cant remove it, Do I need a new pump?

I'm not sure all the methods you tried but try raising the front wheels and slowly turn from stop to stop with the engine off. Works every time for me. Try to watch it though because it will bubble out.

I say just the opposite. Start the car and turn lock to lock several times. That's how I get air out when doing power steering work and it usually works withing 3 or 4 lock to locks.

That works too. Or pull the fuel pump relay and crank while you turn it.
However you do it sometimes there is a problem area that takes a little work to get all the air out. Chances are your going at it right you just need a little more.
