What do I know?
I don't know but here's my guess. I beat a GTS in a Modded 300ZX TT (No NOS) on a Strip, but he smoked me when we went out on the HWY. I think that V-10 Top end is what did it. What's you top end (is there a limiter?) Check Motor Trends Pro Numbers and that should give you an idea.

Well if you really have that vette you shouldnt even be asking if you can beat it. Its kinda hard to believe you have a 415 small block unless you bored a 400 small block.

As much as I like the Corvette and all I don't believe at all they will make that new C6 beat the Viper in a straight line. I just don't see them going from 405hp to over 500 in one year, I think it would be more realistic to assume the new one will have around 415 or 425 hp.

Thats basically what I was talking about, the C6 Z06(if they even call it that). I could see them trying to make it outhandle the new Viper, thats probably possible, but I just really doubt it would jump almost 100 hp just to beat the Viper in a straight line and cost less. Typically when a company makes a new generation car they up the hp or something else, but they don't do something that drastic.

Yes, how it came from 385 to 405, or how the LT1 was 285 and GM made the new ls1 which produced 305-310 hp for the F-Bodies.

I owned a 2000 GTS. You should be able to beat him both ways because your car is lighter and winds up faster. I have a 2003 ZO6 that is getting a stroker 427 and the car already has a Vortech supercharger. That combo will be good for 650 HP at the rear wheels with more available. Just with the stock motor and the supercharger only. the car made 517 rear wheel hp. Until you have a car with that kind of power on tap you have no idea what power is. It really is fun and scary at the same time.

You should beat the Viper pretty easily. You have more done to your engine giving you better accel. Depending on the year of the Viper, you have about the same amount of hp, they started off with 450 and moved up to 500 and in 2003 they went up again, with the RT-10 going up to 500. It should be a cake walk for you.

Don't count on a Corvette ever getting below 3,000 pounds.

How do you figure they've been trying to put the weight down little by little with their different models of the Corvette. By the time we see the C7 it might just be below 3000, I'd wager it will probably be heavier the C5's now since it will probably have more options and other junk in it. You never know though what's going to come out of that car.
